Next market - 13 January 2018

Join us at the Ashhurst Community Market at Cambridge Ave. and Bamfield St. in Ashhurst from 10-1 on Saturday, 13 January.

Spend your LOAVES by Christmas

Read the full list of buisnesses accepting LOAVES here! Many of these businesses are only accepting LOAVES through Christmas, so we urge you to spend your vouchers now. We intend to finish our two-year pilot in March 2018, and the next launch of LOAVES will be based on a different model with timing TBD.

Christmas market a great social event

The combined Christmas parade, Pohangina Ashhurst Community Trust Fair, Skate park opening, and Christmas market was a wonderful day out for the whole family. Wasn't it great to get some Christmas shopping done outside in the beautiful weather rather than in the closed air of a shopping mall? Thanks to all those who made the day a success. LEAP would like to especially acknowledge Helen King, who is in her third season as our market coordinator. What a great day out for Ashhurst!

Local business directory now distributed

LEAP's first annual business directory has been distributed to Ashhurst and Pohangina Valley residents. There are a few extra copies being distributed in downtown Ashhurst, and the regularly updated online version can be searched at this link. If you have a business that you want to list online and in the 2018 print directory, or if you want an update in your curent listing, please get in touch,

Invitation to participate in LEAP, market, and other projects

LEAP is a volunteer-led organisation, and we would welcome additional volunteer. There are lots of possible roles: governance, project development, market support, and more. Please get in touch! We're especially interested in new board members.

Also, if you're interested in coordinating the market, please get in touch. This role comes with a small monthly payment plus some additional funds towards personal expenses. Our current coordinator, Helen King, will remain in the role for the rest of this season (through June 2018), but expressions of interest are welcome now.
